The visit to the Monastery of Santa María de la Rábida is of an extreme importance if you want to go in depth in this historical moment when Cristopher Columbus started planning his journey. Built between the 14th and 15th Centuries, with a mudejar and gothic style, its greatest value is the Mudejar cloisters but we also suggest you visit the church, the chapterhouse and the several paintings.
Muelle de las Carabelas
Travel in time to 1492 visiting the Muelle de las Carabelas (Caravel Dock Museum), where you can find reproductions of Niña, Pinta and Santa María. You can have guided tours inside the ships to get to know about this fascinating expedition.

The Park José Celestino Mutis was opened for the celebration of the 5th Centenary of the return of Columbus´ expedition. Here you can appreciate different species of plants native to the 5 continents and also a greenhouse with tropical species.
The best views
To complete this tour, nothing like enjoying the view from the Monumento a la Fe Descubridora, a high statue of around 37 metres tall located in the confluence of both rivers Tinto and Odiel. The statue was a gift from the United States of America to Spain.
